After seven years of saying "we should probably do this", we're finally making it official. We'd love nothing more than to celebrate with the people who matter most — surrounded by mountains, pine trees, and a lake that doesn't care how long it took us to get here.
Kick off the weekend at our place in Boise. Come and go as you please —
everything will be very casual. Food, drinks, and an early start to
seeing everyone.

A casual backyard-style BBQ at The Retreat in McCall. Everyone's up the mountain by now — come hungry. The Retreat · McCall
We'll say our vows at The Retreat · McCall, with the mountains doing most of the decorating. The Retreat · McCall
Drinks and bites while the sun slides behind the mountains and everyone catches up.
An intimate dinner to close the night — long tables, soft light, and the kind of unhurried conversation that's the whole point of getting everyone in one place.
Nothing on the schedule — just McCall and each other. For anyone staying on, it's a day to slow down, wander the lake, and soak up the mountains together.
Boise Airport (BOI) is the closest major airport. Plan to arrive Thursday, July 30 so you can join us for the welcome dinner that night.
You'll want a car for the weekend. We recommend an SUV — the drive from Boise to McCall is stunning but winding, and you'll appreciate the extra space (and clearance) for lake days and hikes.
For Thursday night after the welcome dinner, there are plenty of good options downtown and in the North End near our house. A few favorites: The Grove Hotel, Inn at 500, or any of the many Airbnbs in the North End — most of which are within walking distance to downtown Boise.
Friday morning, head north — under 2.5 hours via Highway 55, one of the most beautiful drives in Idaho. Follow the Payette River all the way up. Plan to arrive by late afternoon for the BBQ at The Retreat.
We're covering lodging for you in McCall at The Retreat from Friday through Monday. More details on room assignments and check-in will be shared as we get closer.
Early August in McCall: sunny days in the upper 80s, evenings dropping to the 50s. Bring a layer for after sunset — mountain air moves fast.
Layers, a swimsuit, something warm for evenings, and shoes you don't mind getting dusty. The dress code all weekend is comfortable.
We're planning to hang around McCall through the following week and would love for anyone who can to stick around and explore with us. No pressure, no agenda — just more time in the mountains. Tell us what sounds fun in the Activities section below.
McCall quickly earned a special place in our hearts — an alpine lake town tucked between the Payette and Salmon River mountains. It's the kind of place where mornings start with coffee on the dock and days end on a summit with nowhere else to be. Here's what we'd do with your time.
Honestly — you really can't go wrong. Even a slow afternoon on the dock with a book counts as a McCall day well spent.
If you're sticking around after the wedding, here are a few things we might organize as a group. Check whatever sounds fun — it just helps us gauge interest and rally people.
We're hanging in McCall the following week and would love for you to join — swim, hike, eat, nap, whatever pace feels right. Zero pressure, totally optional, but we'd love the company.
Got it — we'll be in touch as we pull weekend plans together.
Your being there is the only gift we're hoping for. Seven years in, we've already got the home, the dogs, and just about everything we need — except all of you in one place. So please, no gifts. Just bring yourselves to the mountains.
